Mateen is a finance professional with over 25 years experience. He started his career in the UK with KPMG before moving to Deutsche Bank and then ABN AMRO, where he was Finance Director for the private equity arm.

In 2006 he moved to the Middle East and has since been a CFO for various companies in the region, which also included corporate advisory activities covering Africa. His sectoral experience, inter alia, includes infrastructure, industrials and banking. Latterly, he headed up the Dubai office of a global litigation financing firm focusing on NPL recovery for the MENA region.

Mateen holds a Masters in Finance & Economics from the University of Dundee and is a chartered accountant holding fellowships both in the UK and Australia. He also holds a LLM in Arbitration & Dispute Resolution and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in the UK.

Sohail has 30 years of experience in financial services, acquired at leading multinational financial institutions.

He started his career at Citibank (London) reaching the positions of Head of Global Product Development for Financial Institutions, Head of Structured Finance for Asia Pacific and Head of Cross Border European Structured Product Arbitrage within six years. His responsibilities included process and risk management, building and management of revenue, product innovation and deal execution in Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Far East.

Subsequently, he worked at Barclays Capital (London) for nine nears holding senior positions including Managing Director, with responsibility for expanding the company’s Structured Capital Markets business beyond the UK into North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

He then worked at Cobussen and Partners, providing advisory services for private equity infrastructure projects in South Asia, the Middle East and the UK and developing a portfolio of structured investments with a group of private and institutional investors.

Sohail holds an M.Sc. in Economics (Accounting & Finance) from the London School of Economics and an LLB (Business Law) from City of London Business School.

Khurshid has over 35 years of financial, management and entrepreneurial experience gained in a wide variety of commercial sectors.

He has worked in corporate and investment banking, power generation and healthcare. He held senior positions of responsibility including CEO of a listed power generation company (with market capitalization of $1.2bn), CFO of a sovereign wealth fund (with assets of $16bn) and COO of a commercial bank (with assets of $250m).

He is experienced in raising finance, both equity and debt, from working with corporate finance professionals, interacting with international commercial banks (from whom he raised $1.2bn) and multilateral lenders such as the World Bank (from whom he raised $1.6bn). He has also personally invested extensively in financial services and healthcare businesses.

Khurshid is a Chartered Accountant (FCA). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from the London School of Economics and a postgraduate diploma in Law from Manchester University.
